DWI & DOEP Intervention Courses in Austin


Texas Transportation Code 521.371-521.377 states that the driver’s license of any person convicted of a misdemeanor or felony drug offense will be automatically suspended for 180 days, or 1 year, if under 21 years of age. To qualify for license reinstatement, individuals MUST attend, & successfully complete, a certified DOEP (Drug Offender Education Program). Failure to complete this DOEP intervention course will extend suspension of their driver’s license indefinitely, until the program is successfully completed. Upon completing this course, participants receive a serially numbered certificate, which can be submitted to DPS for license reinstatement.

ADAAP’s DWI Intervention Class is a 32 hours Texas Department of State Health Services certified program designed for multiple DWI offenders and/or others with alcohol/drug related problems not addressed by the first offender programs (DOEP or DWI). The program focuses on intervening alcohol/drug lifestyles of offenders, encouraging treatment where required & preventing further problems arising from substance abuse. Topics cover a wide range of topics & issues, including personal values, lifestyle choices, self-esteem, responsibility, peer pressure & positive thinking vs. irrational beliefs. Also covered are the physiological/psychological effects of drugs & alcoholism, chemical dependency, co-dependency  & treatment options, as well as instructor led discussions on how drug abuse affects loved ones,12-Step Self Help Groups, Al-Anon, relapse prevention, problem solving and action planning.

There is a maximum class load of 15 students. Register at your earliest convenience to reserve your place in class.

DWI 12 hour Education Program

ADAAP’s DWI intervention course is $70. You can pay online at austineducationservices.com. Advance payment guarantees your seat in the class. You will not be able to enroll, once the course roster has filled up, so enroll early. Austin Education Services accepts ONLY cash or money orders. For other questions regarding the 12 hour DWI intervention course, please call Nicki @ 512-422-1370 Please arrive 20-30 minutes before class start to complete registration paperwork and bring your cause #, Driver’s License # & a snack/drink.
